Is Christmas Celebration Considered Idol Worshiping In Islam? READ THIS

Assalaamu’alaykum wa rahmotulloh
BismilLahir- Rahmaanir- Raheem.

In the name of ALLAAH, the most compassionate in mercy, the most merciful.
All praise and adoration be unto Him, the one who makes the completion of good deeds possible by his mercy and grace, The Lord of all that exists.

And then abundant peace and blessings of Allaah be on the Prophet SAW, the last and the leader of the Prophet, the intercessor of mankind on the day of judgement band and mercy to the mankind, Muhammad BN Abdillaah ( peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his companions, followers of his companions, followers of the followers and those who follow their path till the day of accountability. Aameen.

We are about to unveil one of the problems, misguidance toiling among mankind. Which is the festival called Christmas.

In Islam there are only two festivals known, which are ‘eid-ul- Fitr( festival of breaking fast) and ‘ eid- ul-adha( festival of sacrifice), there is no other festival apart from these.
The prophet(SAW) was reported to have said” if ever we want to have another festival, it will be yaom-ul – jummu’ah (Friday).

It was narrated that ‘Abdullaah BN ‘Abbaas said: ” The Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) said:” this day is an ‘eid(festival) which Allaah has ordained for the Muslims, whoever comes to Friday prayer , let him take a bath and if he has perfume then let him put some on. And upon you I urge to use is the tooth stick. ( Reported by Muhammad BN yaazid BN majah Abu Abdillaah, in his sunan ibn majah vol1, bk 5,Hadith 1098.

But it is pitiful to see some Muslims celebrating Christmas and New year with the Christians even though there are some set of Christians that do not celebrate it i.e the Jehovah witness, deeper life.e.t.c and it has no bases or evidence in the bible.

My advice to those Muslims that partake in this festival is to seek knowledge about the Deen ( religion,Al islaam) and they should have a rethink of what they are doing.
The festival called Christmas is indeed an idol festival. To clarify this point, we go into history.

The person whom they called ‘god’ i.e Prophet ‘Isaa(A.S) is not but a prophet of Allaah, he was given birth miraculously without a father, as mentioned by Allaah SWT in the Qur’an, which is one of the miracle and signs of Allaah (SWT).

The religion he brought is islaam and his followers were called the Hawariyyun i.e the disciples (surot-us- soft 61:14).

He did not die on the cross nor was he persecuted but he was ascend to the heaven by Allaah SWT. He is presently in the second heaven as stated by the Prophet SAW in the Hadith of his journey to heaven, and he is coming back to the earth by the end of time to destroy the crosses and kill the false Messiah ( Al Masih as dajjah).

So he did not bring anything called Christianity. But the religion called Christianity was brought to life 200 years ( 2 centuries) after the ascension to heaven by a person known as Saul but changed name to Paul and he is the one that wrote most of the words in the bible and also name the religion” Christianity”.

The word Christmas itself is an abbreviated form of ” Christ mass” i.e sacrement in commemoration of Christ. The date given to the celebration cannot be traced to the birth of ‘isaa(A.S). But the fourth century after his ascension.

It is also considered to be the birthday of the Hindu god, Krishna, as well as Mithra, the Greek god of light, it also coincides with the annual tree festival which has long been celebrated in Northern Europe before the Christian era.

The Christmas tree is the most obvious aspect of this pagan celebration which was incorporated along with its date of observance, December 25th, into church rites. The Christmas tree, which is the evergreen tree, because it keeps its green needles throughout the winter months was believed by pre- Christian pagans to have special powers of protection against the forces of nature and evil spirits.

With all these known about the festival called Christmas, a conscious and God – fearing Muslim will not observe the festival or call it an holiday talkless of celebrating it.
It is not part of our religion, celebration of Christmas and it likes.

The Prophet SAW said that anything not part of our religion i.e any affair different from that which he brought from Allaah SWT is an innovation ( bid’ah) and all act of innovation is an act of going astray(dhalalah) and every act of going astray leads nowhere except hellfire (jahannam).

May Allaah SWT save us from it and make us firm upon His Deen with righteousness and goodness.

I pray to Allaah SWT not to make us part of those that will dwell in the fire of hell but among the dwellers of paradise. Aameen.

Ma’assalaam.
